Major Wedgie!!

Hi everyone. I've missed you all! Classes have finally started for me and I'm trying to find my footing. I understand why people can be so resistant to change. Lately I have felt as though I'm losing myself but in essence i know it's a rediscovery.

Anyhoo....moving along to what I wanted to show you guys. So my sister purchased these C.U.T.E. shoes last week but they were too big for her. (Yay!) I tried them on and they fit!! Now that I have them I just really think it was something in my 34yr old mine that told me I would be as hot as my 25yr old sister when I put them on. Um.....no...not really but i still like them. What do you all think? Can a 34yr old mom of two rock the 5in wedges or should they be left to the youngsters?

The Lively Room

In spite of painting almost the entire downstairs and the trim, I still have my marbles and a small swig of moscato left (smiling). Okay, seriously so the area is much brighter and allows the furniture to take stand unlike the previous golden color which caused the walls and furniture to compete for the eye. I love the color, which is Behr's Parachute Silk, although my kids were nervous the color was too light. I ended up painting the dining room also even though it's not part of the living room/kitchen area. I did so because it's right off the entrance and in the very front of the house and was white.....yuck! I will post pictures tomorrow as they are stored on my phone and I'm posting from my....... IPad (post for a different day but awesome deal!)

What I have for you in the meantime are pics of the fabric for my pillows. I changed the fabric for more subdued colors to give a more grown-up beach house feel. I also found a coffee table at Goodwill for 5.95 it needs a coat or two of paint. But for the price I hauled tail quickly to the truck with table in tow!

* Well apparently I can not directly upload photos from the IPad to Blogger. Sorry to wet your
whistle and not quench your thirst with pics of the project but I will upload the pics
tomorrow.*

Giveaway Reminder

Tam over at Get It Girl Style is hosting an awesome giveaway featuring three of my top items from Z Gallerie's spring collection. I'm sure you all have seen the tweets and also follow Tam's blog. As a reminder don't forget to enter; the deadline is Monday, March 21. Click here for details on how to enter.

Since we're talking about their fab spring line I may as well share my fave.  I'm really loving myself some blues lately. But not in a sad, depressed, blues type of way but more so in a funky, pop "yo fingas" type of blues reminiscent of B.B. King and Eric Clapton, Rock Me Baby. This lamp by Z Gallery gets my fingers snapping,  for both its design and beautiful vibrant color.

Z Gallerie's Mariposa Table Lam-Aquamarine

Can't you just see this with accents of lemon yellow like this beautiful pillow.

Sold at Pillow Decor on Etsy

That's all for now lovies, til' next time.

Happy Living,

Tiffany

Decisions Decisions

I've selected the paint color for the living room. It's Parachute Silk by Behr the color samples online show up as a bit of a taupe color but in actuality it is more of a beige with a hint of yellow. I think the color will flow perfectly from the foyer which is a calming smokey light blue. With such soothing wall colors I figured I could play around with pops of color in the accents. Here are the current runnings for pillow choices on the couch.

Waverly Ellis Turquoise

Robert Allen Kiki Pinata

I ordered both swatches from Fabric.com . Fortunately both are on sale, the Waverly pattern is 8.98/yd unfortunately it is out of stock until April 7th. The Robert Allen fabric is stocked and on sale for 12.98/yd. I'm really considering ordering from a different online store since last week they said the fabric would be in stock March 17th. One of the good things about the site though is that they offer free shipping on orders over 35.00 and they also sent two coupons with the swatches.  I'm also ordering fabric for pillows in the boys' rooms and thought I could get a great deal and save on shipping. It looks like I may have to go elsewhere. I really like how vibrant the colors are in the Robert Allen pillow and the Waverly pattern is also inspiration for another project in the room. This will be my first attempt at making pillows. I think this project may require a glass of Moscato to calm the sewing jitters. Hmmm (finger on the temple)......I wonder if mom will help me sew?

Treasure Hunting

I've been trying for some time to find a fashionable denim jacket. This past Saturday i came across this fierce little treasure while thrifting. It's reminiscent of Kim Kardashian's denim jacket in Medium Wash for Old Navy but I paid a fraction of the cost. The jacket was on sale for 6.99 and 50% off of that!! Woo-hoo I was two-stepping for this one.

Now, my vision for this baby involves a ribbed white tee and cargo shorts with wedge sandals for a casual look or maybe a silk tank top with linen pants rolled up around the calf just enough for a toned muscle to peek through and a pair of sexy, strappy sandals for a fun night on the town. And gold accessories for both outfits. I am sooooo ready for Spring. I have a feeling this jacket will be a staple.

What's your fashion must have for this Spring?

Living Room Mayhem

I've been tip-toeing around several blogs for a few months and one of my favorite bloggers, Lakeitha from Home to Three Duncan Boys has been working on her family room and inspired me to tackle my own family room. I've put off designing this space because it will force me to tackle the kitchen and breakfast nook as well. So rather than designing one space I will need to design three in order for everything to flow. I will start with the living room. The plan is to then move on to the nook and finally the family room.

Things that are staying:
Couch (sectional)
Table Lamp
End Table
Media Area

Things to bring in:
Drapery Panels
Coffee Table (undecided)
Accessories
Additional Seating

I have to get a new camera so I'm not able to post a picture of my actual space but in the mean time here are a few rooms to enjoy.

Love the pops of orange

I like the sectional look and the black and white photos and the blue-gray walls

I love the artwork and the footstools
